It's just a matter of what type of scavenger hunt do you want to create and what the age range of players you have. In other words is this going to be a scavenger hunt for adults, or is this going to be a scavenger hunt for kids? Once you have that clear idea of who you're creating the game for then you know what type of scavenger hunt clues you are looking to create to implement them into their game. So what we're gonna do here today is show you the very basic fundamentals of creating scavenger hunt clues. We're going to start with a typical outdoor game and then bring it indoors for your indoor scavenger hunt or your office scavenger hunt.

Outdoor Scavenger Hunt Clues

When creating an outdoor scavenger hunt you are not looking to creating an amazing race. You are looking to create clues that are easy and non-dangerous: (such as climbing, crawling, or driving). You want to make the game be within a tight radius such as downtown area and keep it clearly on foot. You also have to take the precautionary measures because of COVID-19 and keep the game as outdoors as possible. Completely refrain the players from entering any type of establishment. Also it is very important that social distancing is at play throughout the whole Game experience and that all players should have masks on. Once you have that covered well you're off to the races :-)

When creating an outdoor scavenger hunt it is mostly derived by photo submissions in the most basic form of a scavenger hunt. There are premium scavenger hunts such as ours that provide many many different challenges to make it into a unique game experience. But right now you just want to create the fundamentals and those are photos and trivia. If down the road you decide to do another scavenger hunt for friends or family then you can start creating additional non-related challenges.

Take a notebook and head to your downtown area start looking around: look up, look down, look left, look right you will definitely start noticing things that you probably have never noticed. Such as Street awning, public art, a statue, a plaque, and so much more. At that point everything that you see, include it into your scavenger hunt list. That is what I call location Photo challenges. Now let's just say that your downtown area with all due respect, does not offer too much. Well, at that point go to a downtown city environment and I am sure that you will find many things to implement into your location photo portion of your game. The other type of photo challenge that you should implement in your game are just fun action shots. Those examples can be many, such as a team pyramid, forming a word, acting out a scene from a movie, etc. If you can't come up with ideas at that point for action shots just go online and I'm sure you'll get ideas especially on platforms like TickTock.

The last thing you should implement in your outdoor scavenger hunt is implementing trivia scavenger hunt clues and treasure hunt ideas. As far as trivia do not implement anything that you could simply find on Google. Make it a little more challenging where they actually have to visit that location in the trivia. A great example of that would be how many bulbs are within an outdoor sign. Or how many flags are outside of a particular hotel. Once you start with one trivia question and keep on looking around you'll have 10 trivia clue questions within 30 minutes for sure.. As far as treasure hunt clues that can be endless, you can have them get anything from a postcard, comic book, bouncy ball, stamp, four leaf clover, whatever you want it's pretty simple.

As far as length of game and point structure, it all depends how big of a radius did you create while you were scouting the area. I would say nothing less than 60 minutes and nothing more than two hours. As far as scoring you can have it be whatever you want to be but keep it simple for example action photographs 25 points location photographs 50 points trivia 75 points and anything returned back to you from the treasure hunt 100 points. By keeping the point structure that simple it makes your tabulating in the end very quick.

Indoor Scavenger Hunt Clues

Now when it comes to an indoor scavenger hunt it is much different than an outdoor game because the radius of the game it's so much tighter. So to come up with some indoor scavenger hunt clues you have to look around a bit more. You should utilize the indoor portion of your house as well as your front and backyard and being a little creative on your indoor scavenger hunt clues.

Remember the indoor scavenger hunt clues should not be anything in the form of dangerous such as jumping, swimming, climbing, keep their feet on the ground. An indoor scavenger hunt is usually nowadays conducted via zoom, not a big fan of it because it looks a bit non-personal, but for the short term it works. The items that can be on your virtual remote indoor scavenger hunt can be anything like an indoor treasure hunt finding for example a game board, a Rubiks cube, a Dictionary and locating the word scavenger hunt in it, a stuffed animal, you kind of get the jest. Now how that is done is very easy, the game coordinator that would be (you) would have created the list and sent it to the players prior to the start of the game. Once you set the time of the game, (keep it no more than 60 minutes), have everybody that is participating in the zoom call 10 minutes prior for instructions. When the game begins, I highly recommend that they have zoom on their cell phones tablets because it's going to require a lot of movement inside and maybe outside of their home so lugging around a laptop would not make it ideal.

When it comes to submission to their photo / video challenges they would simply show it on the screen and you would be monitoring the whole game and tabulating in real time. By doing that it will make the end results very quick with instant gratification. The other thing to include into your indoor scavenger hunt is implementing a few videos. What type of videos you may be asking, simple non-dangerous videos. Such as a dance for 10 seconds or reenacting a scene from a movie. If you want some inspiration like I said with the outdoor scavenger hunt clue ideas above...Instagram and TickTock are not too far from your reach. In conclusion as I said above for the outdoor scavenger hunt keep in mind who your players are. If they're adults that's one thing if they are kids that's obviously another.

So I hope that gives you a little insight on how to attain some indoor and outdoor scavenger hunt clues. However I do see that as a short term type of vision, but something that will be part of a branch of the team building tree. With that said I provided some cool game night ideas that you can try out when it comes to your next virtual team building, cocktail, friends night out in the comfort of your home.

Charades

Charades is a basic game that can be played on any video platform and is incredibly fun. Split the group into teams have your host provide a category to each team and let the fun begin. The person who is acting out the charade uses the Zoom "spotlight" feature for example, their team has one minute to figure out the phrase. Charades has always been a classic game, and this version has worked so well because there are laughs to be had by everyone.

Psych

From the makers of Heads Up is a party game that is simply called psych. To play this game the players make fake answers to real trivia questions, from the team one player must choose the real answer among the fake. You can make the questions be of general themes, such as movies, history, music, etc. You can also have some fun with it and customized to the players that are playing that night.

Heads up!

This game is definitely one of the most classic modern day party games that there is today. It's a word game where players have to describe the word on the screen to the person holding the screen to their head. That can be done with a smart phone or even a tablet. You can have the host provide the words to the teams which makes things easier, the categories can range from whatever you want it to be and you can have as many people as you want participate in the game.

Virtual Picasso

In the theme of a classic games that have been played for years, Pictionary comes to mind as a game that you can simply play virtually with your friends. You can find a Pictionary word generator online. Choose a team to play first, as well as a designated drawer on the team. The drawer in this example generates a word and has one minute draw that word for their team to guess. If the team guesses the card correctly, they get the point. The team that reaches 10 wins.

Name It

This game has been popular with players for a long time and is great for a platform like zoom. To play this game it's very simple by just picking a letter. Each participant has to list a famous persons name, place, and a thing that begins with that letter. The first player to type them into the platform chat will receive a point first player to reach 10 wins.

Trivia

This is very simple and in such a classic game. In this version the host provides the group a series of trivia questions where it could range from a variety of categories or you can customize it towards the group. So as an example the host would provide the trivia question to the participants, and each participant would send a chat answer back to the host. If indeed it is the correct answer the host will award a point to the players that entered correctly. Set a threshold number (10) for victory

So there you have it a few quick games that you can put together this afternoon for your virtual cocktail hour or teambuilding gathering for this evening. The city itself has not only become our original game board but also a good friend that we are proud of. Boston has a lot to offer and it is by far one of the best cities to visit in the United States. So, with that being said if you're ever planning on visiting the city let me provide you with some must-see locations.

Historic Boston

Historic Boston is by far the most visited location in Massachusetts. It consists of classic historic locations like Faneuil Hall where you will find Quincy Market as well as many shops and restaurants that hold a very Boston flavor to them. Right down the street you can also treat yourself to a nice warm cup of clam chowder at the Union Oyster House as well as having a pint at a very popular and historic pub called "The Point". Across the street from Faneuil Hall, you will find my favorite place and that is the historic North End.

The North End can also be considered the Little Italy of Boston, which hosts fantastic and delicious bakeries, bistro's, and restaurants. It is the closest thing to Europe in Boston, but like I've always said there is the North end, and then there's Boston. The neighborhood for the most part has not changed, and its flavor is shown via its residents and its atmosphere. I would strongly suggest getting a delicious cappuccino from the Thinking Cup on Hanover Street right after a fantastic meal at Strega on the same street.

But let's not discount, it's historic Boston history. In the North End you will also find Paul Revere's house, the North Church, as well as as a statue of local boxing champion Tony DiMarco that will greet you at the entrance of the North End. If you're lucky, you might happen to find Mr. DiMarco, in front of his statue as he tells you about the night he won the title in the Boston Garden. The one heads up I will give you about that location is look up, look down, look left, and look right because I will guarantee you that you will discover some thing everywhere you look. Take advantage of not only the main streets of the North End, but as well as its side streets. It has a lot to offer.

Rose Kennedy Greenway

The Rose Kennedy Greenway is something that you will find between the North End and Faneuil Hall it was part of the big dig project and now has become a beautiful park that starts in the North End and goes all the way down to Derby Square. What is great about the Greenway is that it provides a lot in the form of public art that is amazing to witness because every piece is unique in itself. There is a lot of permanent public art, as well as temporary that have been produced by world renowned artists. The Greenway also has a fantastic outdoor shopping experience on the weekends from late spring to early fall, by local artists and entrepreneurs. From prints, jewelry, funky T-shirts, and so much more it is a perfect Boston gift. In the summer it also provides social gatherings with music, outdoor movies, yoga classes, and a lot of things for the kids. It is one of the more "recent" additions to the city, the great thing about the Greenway is that it's ever-changing.

The Back Bay

The Back Bay is with many would like to call the contemporary part of Boston. It is in someways and it is not in others, because it does have a lot of historic Boston within it. You definitely would like to visit the Boston common as well as the beautiful Public Garden. Don't forget that if you do go to the Public Garden you need to take a Swan Boat Ride, or your Public Garden experience will not be complete. ;)

If you want to shop in Boston well the Back Bay is one of the most visited shopping destinations in the city. It is a bit of a rodeo drive, but there's something there for everyone. Outside of shopping there is a lot to see you can see in the Back Bay, such as the historic Cheers location based on the famous NBC show. You can also visit the Boston Public Library, but I'm not really talking about the library itself, I'm talking about the outdoor yard in the middle of the library. It is truly a beautiful hidden gem in Boston, it has a very Venetian and tranquil feel to it. That location in the Back Bay, is a must.

There's also the Prudential Center where you can go to the top floor of that building and enter it's "Skywalk" where you have a fantastic 360 degree overhead view of Boston. You can also take one of the more famous tours in Boston, which would be the "Boston Duck Tours". The Boston Duck Tours are famous for two reasons. These are the vehicles of choice when it comes to professional Boston sports teams celebrating their championship victories, the other is it's unique take on the typical Boston tour. These vehicles are land and sea vehicles which will bring you all around Boston and the historic Charles River, they provide both knowledge and a slice of Boston comedy.

So there you have it, my two cents about the city of Boston! Hopefully I provided you with a good little start when you visit our fair city. If you ever want information about our premium Boston scavenger hunt experiences click the link below and it will provide you with information about our games that take place in Historic Boston, The Back Bay, and our Harvard Square location. So I'm gonna provide you with what I think are five simple, comedic, and dare do I say competitive games that you can play at your next party.

Prediction Bingo

Players 5 to 25

The Gear: printouts of 3 x 3 grid; one per player

So you think you know how a party is going to go? Well, now you can win points for your foresight. Give each guest a grid. Ask the players to fill in each square with a prediction for what will happen during the evening, these can be predictions for specific guests or just for general events. For example, a player might write "Jill will cover her mouth when she laughs," or "someone will try to raise the Venetian blind, end it will go crooked."

Tell the players to keep the grid handy but not visible to other players. Guests will circulate, make small talk, fix drinks, in short the evening goes on like a normal party. But when one of their predictions comes true, they should alert the group: "everyone? I predicted that Jean would comment that the cilantro just makes the salsa, and she just did!" And mark off the box. The first person to complete three in a row on his grid either horizontally, vertically, or diagonally wins the game.

Physical Word Hunt

Physical word hunt is a combination of an indoor scavenger hunt and an anagram activity. It's a great game to launch during the cocktail hour while you're getting the food on the table. It keeps guests moving and playing, rather than standing around, sweating the small talk.

Players 2 to 10, plus a non-playing host

The gear: index cards, supply of six letter words.

For each gas, makes cards with his or her name on them. On each card, write one letter of a six letter word. Parentheses each gas gets a different word.) Hide the cards are on the house-inbox, under the food processor, behind the cotton balls, in your sock drawer.

The Game Plan

When your guests arrive, set them loose to find the cards. They are looking for cards label with their names; once they found all six, they can assemble the word. If they find a card that is not theirs, they should return it to the spot undisturbed and tell no one.

Winning

The first person to find all six of her cards and assemble the six letter word there in Wins a small prize, like banana grams! A player may also win by guessing her word even before she finds all the letters.

Three words

Players: 6 to 15

The Gear: a ball, a tennis ball, a kickball. Even a rollerball of socks will do you don't want to break the lamps.

The game plan seat the players around the edges of a room. The youngest player begins the game as it. It tosses the ball to a guest and says a three letter word -say,dig-then immediately begins to count to five. Before it has reached five, the guest whom the ball was thrown must say three words, each one beginning with a different letter in the word called out by it. If he succeeds he returns the ball to it. If he fails he tosses the ball to another guest.

Winning

Three words is non-competitive but should you so desired, you may illuminate players if they fail to see the three words in time the last player to be eliminated is the winner.

Jail

Jail is a game in which people scramble to get seats-but this time you're operating as a couple. This means that everywhere you go, your partner has to go to. So teamwork is a key here-just like in a marriage, you can't barge ahead without your partner's consent-and if your partner does Barge ahead, sometimes it's better to just follow without argument. She who hesitates is lost

Players at least six couples, plus a moderator

The gear: a chair for each person

The Game Plan

Seat guests in pairs around the room, some with their backs to each other, some side-by-side. But one couple in the center and call those two chairs "jail."

Assign each couple a number. The moderator calls out three numbers say, one, two, and three, and those three couple scramble to change seats, while the couple in jail also tries to get into a pair of vacant seats. Couples my stay together, side-by-side, but not touching. If the moderators sees them separate more than a couple of feet, they will lose a point. The moderator's judgment on this is final. Couples who successfully change seats gain a point.

Play is to 10 points, or some other agreed-upon number

Sardines

A kind of reverse hide and seek, sardines is a game in which one player, "it," must hide, and others hide with her when they find her. It's a great game for a post-dinner, had a few drinks kind of game.

Players 5 to 30

The Game Plan

Select an "It". It chooses a hiding place sneaky enough to conceal her, but spacious enough to hold most if not all of the players. The seekers cover their eyes, count to 50, and then go in search of it. When a seeker finds it, he crawls into her hiding place with her. When seekers one by one discover it, they will cram into her space with her. The last one to find the crowd is "it" for the next game

House vs House

House vs House is an indoor scavenger hunt game that is played through an app and scored in realtime. The great thing about this game is you can challenge friends or family from their houses from the other side of the country. This indoor scavenger hunt utilizes the inside and outside of your house. It's a combination of comical photographs and videos as well as personalize trivia and some secret challenges. The game is usually 90 minutes long, and it goes by fast. But what it develops is team building, improvising, and strategy. The best thing about it is you get to keep all the photographs and videos that you took throughout your game experience. That can be done now of course but with that said players need to follow traffic laws and all the locations that they need to go should be a location where there is a lot of free or very low cost parking fees so the players can go out and explore the location. Or just keep it tight pick a big city and have the game all take place within that city on foot. I would recommend the latter.

Public Art - Most cities has their own version of public art in the form of graffiti, display street art, etc. It has become a very popular attraction.

The Scavenger Classics - Team pyramids, forming a word, jumping in mid air, etc have always been great filler challenges for your photo portion of the hunt

Treasure Hunting - You can either print out points and hide them ahead of time for team members to find and retrieve. A wonderful example is adding video challenges to your scavenger hunt game. Throughout the years we’ve added so many different aspects of the games that we provide, however one of our favorite parts are the video challenges. So what I’m gonna to do here today is to provide you with some video challenges that you can implement in your scavenger hunt game. These are my top three video scavenger hunt challenges reccomendations.

Musical snort: This challenge is by far one of my favorite video challenges because it’s not as easy as it sounds. The object of this video challenge is very simple. Have the team record themselves “singing a melody” just by snorting it out. It is by far one of the more comical video challenges.

Stop and Freeze: One of the more recent viral videos that were on a variety of different social platforms was the “mannequin challenge”. When I first saw that I found very intriguing because of everybody’s different interpretation of that viral challenge as well as their improvisational skills which made each mannequin challenge unique. So With that said implement a 10 second mannequin challenge with team members acting out a story. It becomes very unique.

We’re Breakin’: This has been one of the more classic video challenges we have provided in our Cashunt games. Usually what we tend to do is constantly change our challenges to make our game always refreshed and new. However, there are certain challenges that last the test of time and a 10 second team breakdancing challenge never tires. So I believe this will make a great addition to your video challenges. It is a very entertaining challenge when you look back at it.

So I hope I provide some ideas when it comes to your video scavenger hunt experience. As always if you would like to learn more about our scavenger hunt games simply click the link below and It will provide you the information to the game of your choice or you can simply talk to a Cashunt Game coordinator and they will provide you with a detailed description.

Thanks!

Chris

www.cashunt.com
Chris From Cashunthttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09197767374823151837noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6788953472455295022.post-80312886129810244412020-08-04T09:55:00.005-04:002020-08-04T09:55:52.154-04:0010 Creative Photo Scavenger Hunt Ideas!

Scavenger hunts have always been popular for decades and the evolution of the scavenger hunt has indeed grown. When it comes to team names it is really easy because it reflects the identity of your team. So before you know it, you will have so many listed out, that it might be tricky as to what would fit best ;)

When you think of your team...think of it's members that are a part of it..are they sports fans? (The Fanatics) Are they wine drinkers (Winos) Are they big Star Wars fans ( The Rebels or Team Vader) Are they beach goers (The Beach Bums) the options are endless and many times very comical when it comes to selecting you scavenger hunt team name

The most boring thing I have ever seen when it comes to team names are the following (Team A..., Team Red..., Team Three...). Really? Since we print the team names on the Cashunt bags, game booklets, and team tags, and we see that..we send those suggestions back and ask for something original, and help the client out with some suggestions. Let's say you are a family and you are challenging another family a simple example would be (Team Gallagher vs Team Papas) the ideas are again endless.

It only takes a few minutes, bust a piece of paper out and start brainstorming..and I guarantee you will have developed more team names than you can imagine.

But if you need help we are here to provide some suggestions :)
Chris From Cashunthttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09197767374823151837noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6788953472455295022.post-41453424122848197072020-07-13T09:28:00.001-04:002020-07-13T09:28:16.057-04:00Chase Jarvis's Creative Calling ReviewChris From Cashunthttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09197767374823151837noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6788953472455295022.post-24531079358125867752020-07-06T10:23:00.001-04:002020-07-06T10:23:28.428-04:00Cashunt's Season 21 Trailer!Chris From Cashunthttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09197767374823151837noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6788953472455295022.post-85712954382196378012020-07-03T10:51:00.001-04:002020-07-03T10:51:17.108-04:00How To Create A 4th July Scavenger HuntChris From Cashunthttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09197767374823151837noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6788953472455295022.post-25003175830303575712020-06-24T15:05:00.001-04:002020-06-24T15:05:35.037-04:00How To Create A Hybrid BusinessChris From Cashunthttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09197767374823151837noreply@blogger.com0
