The Pen Is More Mighty Than The Swipe

In today's world technology has consumed a good portion of our lives with the uses of smart phones and tablets. The way that we document and narrate our lives is very different than how it was maybe 15 years ago.We take photos and videos on our smart phones with the risk of losing it just by dropping the device in a pool or maybe even a device malfunction. It’s when that happens we regret it and we lose all that content forever. That doesn’t need to happen because you need to start to take an old school approach of creating new narrative and documentation with a pen. Remember when it was just very simple to take photographs with a general camera, you would take the film to get developed and wait for the “surprise” as to what came out of it? It was that simple and after that you would just simply place those photographs in a photo album and enjoy them by flipping through the pages and reliving those moments. The reason why we did it is because the photo album was always present. Nowadays it's not as present because it has been replaced by our devices. This also holds true when it becomes a tool to holding designs and ideas…but you face the risk of losing everything. That right there becomes very painful…maybe even worse than loosing photos. What I do recommend is taking an old school approach by buying yourself a nice expensive pen. Now you might be asking why an expensive pen? Because it has an intimate transmission from the creator to the document. It has been the case for centuries and holds true to day. Everything that is documented in a journal or in a notepad or even a sketchpad is a personal connection to the narrative of your own creativity. By taking this old school approach of documenting, it’s easier for you to visit and revisit it and use it for reference. It’s always present and not tucked away forever in a device. At the time of writing your thoughts, ideas, and designs it and might not have been relative at that moment. However by having these journals around you, they might enlighten something as you move forward. When that happens it becomes an amazing discovery that you can instill in your creative project that day..and it might have been months maybe years when your first wrote it down… Nothing is impossible. When it comes to creative individuals. Sure computers can do quite bit and they can escalate the creativity process. However everything comes from a root source and that route source happens to be the pen and the paper. So before you place that voice note or document something on your tech device, consider the old school approach and start creating physical journals. You'll be glad that you did :)
