Read the book before judging the cover ;)

When you climb this crazy hill that we call entrepreneurship people tend to look at the fruits before they look at all the hard work it took to get you there.  That is troubling to me because I find that you need to know the backstory in order to appreciate the current situation of that person's success.  A back story can be more attractive and inspiring than the product itself, at least I think so.  I am always intrigued as to how people took their creative ambition and made it into a reality.

When that is understood then it's easier for that person to understand what it took for someone to get there and inspire them to implement that ambition in their own project...but it's not always pretty.  There is a lot of sacrifice to achieve a dream...a sacrifice that might consist of not be able to attend events, shut out some negative noise, and maybe even form new circles.  These of course are hard choices, must sometimes hard choices need to be made in order to advance.

I talk to a lot of people that are much younger than me and they always tell me for the most part that they do not know what they want to do with their life...and if you know me I usually respond...what do you want to do... and miraculously I actually get an answer.  "I want to do _______.   Wait...a moment ago you did not know what you wanted to do and then when I ask you the same thing in a question you have an answer?!  Strange... but it's not strange at all...it is your inner voice telling you...you can't.  But I'm here tell you that you can and I can point out your unseen talents and try to guide you.  Now that we jumped that easy hurdle.... the next one...is the hardest one to leap over and I can't hold your hand....because that hurdle's name is .....work.

Work is such a misused word...to some it brings pleasure and to many it's a dreaded word.  Why is dreaded yo may ask?  Well... its people that totally dislike what they are doing...and they start to become negative....and then they turn ugly...and no one wants to look ugly right?

But why not flip that word and make it one of pleasure where you can't wait to go to work and enjoy something that you always have been interested in?!  Why not?!  Did a friend or family member tell you that your idea was stupid, making you think the same way where you know in your own heart that the idea has potential.  Stop It! Shut that out and move forward...succeed or fail you won't know until you try..  (By the way see who is giving you the advice and where they are in their life...it's not usually in a good place...truth )

If you succeed brilliant now your foot is in the door but you have to pry that door open to get to the next level.  It might take months or even years, but if you fail..that's fine you learn from it , place a band-aid and keep pushing forward..  Work is not a bad word it is a pendulum that will swing the way you want it to...but you need to put in the time and effort in order for things to happen.

In conclusion as the old saying goes "do not judge a book by it's cover" this is true but I am telling you to read their book, learn from it and make it your own.   Once you harness and accept that things will happen.  You might ask "what about all those critics I might have had"...well I'm here to tell you that once you have reached a certain level they will claim"I always knew it would work" ;)
